Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
To manage the cookies and similar technologies used (tracking pixels, web beacons, etc.) and related consents, we use the consent tool “Real Cookie Banner”. Details on how “Real Cookie Banner” works can be found at https://devowl.io/rcb/data-processing/.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data in this context are Art. 6 (1) lit. c GDPR and Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the management of the cookies and similar technologies used and the related consents.
The provision of personal data is neither contractually required nor necessary for the conclusion of a contract. You are not obliged to provide the personal data. If you do not provide the personal data, we will not be able to manage your consents.
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. They will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not include personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves as if the visitor had visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can automatically recognise and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Use and storage of your contact information.
When you supply personal information to eCultureSolutions.org (e.g., for competitions, eCultureSolutions.org Community services or eCultureSolutions.org membership), we have legal obligations towards you in how we use that data. We must collect the information fairly; that is, we must explain how we will use it (see the notices on particular web pages that let you know why we are requesting the information) and tell you if we want to pass it on to anyone else.
In general, any information you provide to eCulture Solutions will only be used within eCulture Solutions and by its agents and service providers. Your information will be disclosed where we are obliged or permitted by law. Also, suppose you post or send offensive, inappropriate or objectionable content anywhere on or to eCultureSolutions.org or otherwise engage in disruptive behaviour on eCultureSolutions.org. In that case, eCulture Solutions can use whatever information about you is available to it to stop such behaviour. This may involve informing relevant third parties such as your employer, school e-mail/Internet provider and law enforcement agencies about the content and your behaviour.
We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as you use the service you have requested and remove it if the purpose has been met or, in the case of eCultureSolutions.org membership, you no longer wish to continue your registration as an eCultureSolutions.org member. For safety reasons, however, eCulture Solutions may store messaging transcript data (including message content, member names, times and dates) from using eCultureSolutions.org community services such as Connector for six months. Where personal information is held for people who are not yet registered but have taken part in other eCultureSolutions.com services (e.g. competitions), that information will be held as long as is necessary to ensure that the service runs smoothly. We will ensure that all personal information supplied is held securely in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act.
Suppose you are notified on an eCultureSolutions.org site that your information may be used to allow eCulture Solutions to contact you for “service administration purposes”. In that case, eCulture Solutions may contact you for several purposes related to the service you have signed up for. For example, we may wish to provide you with password reminders or notify you that a particular service has been suspended for maintenance. We will not contact you for promotional purposes, such as notifying you of improvements to the service or new services on eCultureSolutions.org, unless you specifically agree to be contacted for such purposes when you submit your information on the site or at a later time if you sign up specifically to receive such promotional information.
